Massage Therapy
Massage therapy does more than make you feel good, it can actually help your body achieve balance and health. Massage therapy offers a natural treatment approach which actually relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our chiropractic office provides specific massage and muscular therapy that is complimentary to their chiropractic care. Each massage therapy plan is tailored to meet the patient's unique pain condition or injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include the increase of blood circulation, a localized reduction in swelling and the relaxation of muscles. Massage has been known to relieve muscle pain and spasms, increase a patient's range of motion, while also aiding in a patient's recovery. Some investigative studies have even indicated that a single session of massage may help boost your immune system!
Decompression Therapy
Decompression treatment slowly and gently lengthens and releases pressure in the spine through repetitive stretching movements, by a customized medical device. The table pulls and releases, creating a pressure change within the vertebral disc, surrounding soft tissue and joints. The soft pressure change allows the disc material and nutrients to be pulled back into the disc by negative pressure. Rehydration of the disc and surrounding tissues creates a physiological change which assists the body’s natural healing process.
Who Benefits From Decompression?
Anyone who has back or neck pain caused in whole or in part by a damaged disc may be helped by spinal decompression therapy. These conditions include herniated discs, protruding discs, bulging discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, leg pain, leg numbness, arm pain, arm numbness, radiculopathy and certain types of headaches!
Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser is a therapy that uses low levels of energy or photons to penetrate deep into a painful tissue. The light leads to chemical changes that can help damaged cells recover and regrow. Here, at Spine and Wellness, we use a handheld device the size of a flashlight and place it directly on the injured area. Laser treatment may last as little as 5 minutes or as long as 20 minutes.
Cold laser therapy is non-invasive and typically painless. It is used to improve healing and blood flow of injured tissue. It also may be done as part of a well rounded rehab program.
