What to expect on your first visit to Dr. David M. Scheer

CONSULTATION: The first important step for a new chiropractic patient. Here, health history is recorded and evaluated. The consultation indicates for both Dr. Scheer and patient what options can or should be explored. At this time a mutual decision is made to commence with examination.

EXAMINATION: Your examination will be as thorough as your problem warrants and may include neurologic and orthopedic tests, Applied Kinesiology muscle testng, evaluation, chiropractic spinal analysis and, in fact, anything that will help Dr. Scheer get you on the road to recovery as soon as possible.

X-RAY: A spinal X-ray is like a life-size blueprint and takes on a new meaning at our clinic. We look at more than just disease (pathology) or fracture, and after the possibility of these are eliminated, the structure and alignment (subluxations) are assessed closely to facilitate repairs.

REPORT OF FINDINGS: Dr. Scheer will explain your particular case, go over your exam findings and answer your questions. Chiropractic care is not generally a treatment for backache or other symptoms but care that frees the spine from stress, nerve root pressure and irritation (called subluxation) through what is called a "Spinal Adjustment." The release of spinal nerve energy frees the forces that naturally heal and is therefore therapeutic and preventative.
